Essentially, you can choose the service you require, from: -
♦ House VisitsThis service is usually used by busy, working pet owners. Cats, for example, need to eat at least twice per day and their quarters must be cleaned. So house visiting involves a Pet Sitter travelling to an owner's home to visit the pet 1-2 times per day. During these visits, Pet Sitters will give the pet the appropriate food, water and attention which was agreed upon with the Pet Owner.
♦ SittingA pet sitting service can be offered when we cannot take pets into our own home. Pet Sitting involves a sitter travelling to the pet owner's house and staying overnight to look after their pet. This service is used by owners who are travelling or who have pets who are not comfortable in locations other than their own home. Dog walking may or may not be included in the price of Pet Sitting, however this is up to the discretion of the Pet Sitter and should be discussed prior to the booking;
♦ Day Care Pet daycare involves the Sitter taking care of an owner's pet during the day either at the Pet Sitter's own home or the Pet Owner's home. This may involve feeding them, playing with them or just being present to ensure nothing detrimental occurs;
♦ Dog Walk Dog Walking is our most flexible and popular daytime service. Walks usually take between 30-60 minutes depending on the needs of the dog.
♦ HostingWe do
not currently offer a Hosting service. Hosting is a popular service, where we accept the owner's pet into our home and care for it. Pet hosting is a service used by pet owners who are travelling or will be away from their property for a period of time.
What's the difference between a Cattery and a Cat Sitter?- Boarding catteryBoarding catteries (or cat boarding kennels) is where cats are housed temporarily, when they cannot stay at their owners' home. All UK catteries need to be licensed and inspected by the local authority's Environmental Health department under the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963. Licensed establishments will have a copy of their licence prominently displayed as part of their conditions of licence.
- Pet Sitting"Pet sitting" is defined as "the act of caring for a pet in its own home while the owner is away." Caring for pets in the pet owners' homes is what separates pet sitters from boarders or cattery/dog daycare centres.
Newton Pet Sitters is not a cattery. We can not board pets because we are not a licensed animal boarding establishment. If you need to send your pet to someone else's property/facility for them to watch over your pet while you're away, you need a licensed cattery.
Newton Pet Sitters provides a service whereby we visit a pet owner's home and take care of the owner's pet - just like babysitting.
Who are Newton Pet Sitters?
Newton Pet Sitters are a family of animal lovers who are dependable and honest who can visit your pets in your home while you're away.
Being away from your pet is already stressful for you and your pet. Working late last minute or an emergency only adds to your pet’s stress. Our goal is to provide the most comforting environment for you and your family pet when you cannot be there.
Are Pet Sitters a good idea?One of the best things about pet sitters is that, while you're away, your pet(s) remain in the comfort of their own home while receiving the optimal amount of care and attention. You do not have to worry about your pets being around other animals or in a new environment with a pet sitter in control.
Is it cruel to put your cat in a cattery?Most cats hate catteries. Unless they have been used to going from a very young age, putting your cat in a cattery can cause them a great deal of stress. Cats are territorial animals and also fairly solitary. Cats can become distressed if they are left alone for a long period without company.
How much does Pet Sitting cost ?From £9.00 per visit.
